Dear Friends,

We invite you to a day of ancient wisdom and living practice.

For over two thousand years, the Huang Di Nei Jing (黄帝内经) — the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon — has guided humanity in understanding the body, the mind, and the consciousness that unites them. It is not merely a medical text. It is a map of inner space — a manual for living in harmony with the cosmos.

In this one-day program, we will explore the Emperor's Canon not as history, but as living practice. We will learn:

  • How consciousness (Shen) governs essence (Jing)
  • How the meridians carry information, not just energy
  • How structure and alignment determine health
  • How herbs and food are medicine
  • How the highest medicine (ShangYi) is not treatment — but consciousness itself

This is not a lecture. This is an initiation — into the arts and science of inner space.

🌟 The Meaning of ShangYi (上医之意)

In the Huang Di Nei Jing, three levels of physicians are described:

LevelMeaning
ShangYi (上医)The highest physician — treats the root before illness arises
ZhongYi (中医)The middle physician — treats illness as it emerges
XiaYi (下医)The lower physician — treats disease after it has formed

The ancient saying: "上医治未病" — The superior physician treats illness before it arises.

But there is a deeper reading. ShangYi is not only a physician of the body. ShangYi is consciousness itself — the awareness that observes, that harmonizes, that heals from within.

In this program, we explore Consciousness ShangYi: the recognition that the highest medicine is not external. It is the inner space of awareness, aligned with the cosmos, flowing through the body as coherence.

💬 Closing Words (结语)

The Yellow Emperor asked his teacher: "I have heard that in ancient times, people lived over a hundred years without decline. Today, people age at fifty. What is the reason?"

Qi Bo answered: "In ancient times, people lived in harmony with the Dao. They regulated their eating and drinking, their sleeping and rising, and did not exhaust themselves. Therefore, body and spirit were united, and they lived out their natural span."

This is the teaching. Health is not an achievement. It is a return — to harmony, to balance, to the inner space that has always been whole.

We invite you to return with us.

In Great Harmony,
DeRu
